Hello and welcome to the best free dating advice on the web. In this edition, we’ll discuss the best and worst movie genres for a date.
Best and worst movie genres for a date
Going to see a movie is a really typical date if you are fish dating. In some ways it’s not ideal, as you’ll spend up to two hours or more sitting together and not really communicating, but on the other hand after the movie you’ll have something to talk about. Read on for our free fish dating advice about the best and worst movie genres for a date.
Comedy
At first blush this seems like a great option. Everyone likes to laugh, right? It is a good option if you both like the movie and find it funny, but the fact is that a lot of comedies today really aren’t that funny, so it could be a disappointing experience. On the other, other hand, if the movie is so bad that you can bond afterwards by talking about how unfunny it was, then it could work out after all! If you want problem free fish dating, steer away from this genre unless you are really confident about the movie.
Thriller
Thriller is a good option for a date movie genre. Something that is tense and engaging will make you both feel as if you have shared a memorable, exciting experience, and this is likely to make you feel as if you are emotionally closer to each other. Plus, if the movie is tense you might share a little cuddle during the screening, which is always nice! Our free dating advice on this one is to go for it
Drama
Drama is also a good date movie option, for some of the same reasons as mentioned above under ‘Thriller’. However, some dramas can be a little downbeat, and a depressing ending will be a poor springboard to the rest of the night. Our free dating advice here is to pre-vet the movie that you are considering, and find one where everything works out in the end. Leaving the cinema on a high note will be a great way to lead into the rest of the night.
Horror / Slasher
Well, this is a risky option. Like the thriller, this genre is tense and exciting, but often the horror / slasher genre goes further, with situations and graphic images that are specifically designed to shock. Sometimes these images are difficult to get out of your mind after seeing them, and this could pose a problem for the date post-movie. Plus, this genre can put people on edge, and may make them less trusting and more fearful for a brief period afterwards. These are not good emotions to provoke on a date, so our free dating advice is that this genre is best avoided.
Action
A clever action with good dialogue and interesting characters is a solid, if possibly bland, date movie choice. The main problem is that action movies are liked disproportionately more by men than by women, so it’s possible that both parties won’t enjoy the experience equally, and this is not good on a date. Pick this genre if you think the movie in question is of quality, but give it some thought if it is more a run-of-the-mill action movie.
